Traces Traveling WWII/POW Museum 2009

Date:  June 4, 2009
In June Alma will again welcome the traveling World War II/POW museum "Held in the Heartland". The museum will be stopping in Alma as it makes it way through Michigan. The program is sponsored by the Pine River Arts Council, Alma Elks Club, Trinity Baaptist Church, the Alma Action Association and Alma DDA. The non-profit group bringing the museum to Alma is called Traces. Traces is an education organization created to gather, preserve and present stories of people from the Midwest, Germany and Austria who encountered each other during WWII. The traveling museum will be here on Thursday June 4, 2009 from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. The exhibit will be set up at the Alma Middle School Parking lot from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. From 2:00 to 6:00 pm will be parked on State Street next to Alma True Value Hardware. If you would like to learn more about the Traces organization their website is www.traces.org. All are welcome to walk through the exhibit at the school or in downtown.
